In college, romance means melodrama. Inspired hugely from films, students in love can’t resist being dramatic. The most common pick up line is “How do you manage to look so hot!”(okay I know because I also use it :P)
Guys sing Please Forgive Me for their gals (doesn’t matter if they sing like Anu Malik with a cold) and gals call up their guys minutes after they separate to say, “Jaaanu, I miss you, I miss you, I miss miss miss you!” When she suffers from a minor headache, his face crumples up in pain as he comforts her in a voice suitable for a deathbed, instead of getting her an aspirin. When he falls sick, she roams through the corridors of college with ‘Why God? Why are you doing this to him?’ expression, scaring a few students away in the process.
The inevitable fight is always resolved by getting a few hundred friends on the scene, and then finally a tearful confrontation and a filmy apology complete with dialogues from the I-can’t-live–without-you category. It is always funny to watch for a person who is not in his teenage.
Even though the emotions are true they do not show it in a normal way because ‘Ishq’ was not as hit as ‘Dil wale dulhaniya le jayenge’. So every guy wants to be Raj and every girl wants to be Simran. But the people who are in their mid twenties or thirties always say ‘Dil wale dulhaniya le jayenge’ is a bad movie. They say that because many of the girls ruined their love life waiting for that special one ‘Raj’ who never came and boys got beatings for using those dialogues on the girls who hate DDLJ!
So Love should be expressed in a way which is original because love is a feeling and you cannot just do show off with it.
