Ganpati Bappa Moriya

During the months of August and September we have Ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra and India. But I wonder if this is what was in the minds of people who started this festival.

I have heard “Sheela ki Jawani” and “Munni Badnaam hui” playing on the Visarjan day and I couldn’t help it but just stand and stare (to be honest dance with the crowd: P). But later I thought about it. I kept wondering what Ganesh Chaturthi has now become. Is this what we make of Indian culture in the 21st century? Producing loud music and bursting fire crackers, drinking liquor and going for the Visarjan. Is this Ganpati Bappa Moriya? Are these Modaks? Don’t distribute prasads only, instead start giving alcohol away. People also will be happy as it will b money saving for them and your mind will also get the satisfaction in the name of pooja. This is not yet over. What about the POP that we let away in the sea? Indian Ocean will be full of Plaster of Paris and waste if we go on like this.

Initially this festival was organized for get-togethers. It was organized so that the bonding between the Hindus is improved. It was organized by the great ruler of Maharashtra Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja. It was initiated to promote culture and religion. But first it was only in Maharashtra. But then an Indian freedom fighter named Lokmanya Tilak transformed the annual domestic festival into a large, well organized public event. He wanted to bridge a gap between the Brahmins and non Brahmins and wanted to build unity between them. He was successful that time but he dint know what will happen in future. I somewhere deep inside me hold Lokmanya Tilak responsible for global warming.

Lokmanya Tilak was very successful that time but now this festival has become a competition which is promoting global warming. There are fights between the people during visarjans as in who will go first. Is this actually the purpose of Ganesh Chaturthi?

So now why stop? Let’s pollute and promote global warming!! Let’s say Ganpati Bappa Moriya and say Come early Next year!!

So called EDUCATION

“Education is important” this is what we hear from childhood, but how many of us know what is education. Education according to us is studying and passing. Nowadays education is a thing made to judge people. The government think that education is giving knowledge, but how many people think that way? People read and study just for competition, not for knowledge. Knowledge can come only when we want it to come.

For me Knowledge can come in three easy steps.

Step one- Learning. (Learning here means having experience than just reading it or studying. i.e. a person who repairs a car will know better than us who just read it in some magazine or book.)

Step two- Awareness.

Step three- Enlightenment.

People don’t follow this. They do it just for becoming something, which is very wrong. The others who think about it also end up in doing the same thing, just to catch up with the other people who don’t believe this fact.

Education is more of theory, nothing is practical. Students are forced to study. Students should get a chance to select their subject of interest. More than 70% percent of the people study just keeping in mind of their family or thinking that the easiest way to fame is studying. You do not need to be talented to be educated; you need talent to get knowledge.

Even after being the topper in college, there are many people who are not famous. They have just learned something. They don’t know about it or they are not creative in the field they entered. Creativity comes with practical approach towards things and experiences. To be creative you should be experienced and practical. Many people think of becoming something but they have not experienced it in their childhood so they don’t get the exposure to it, because of which they cannot excel in it.

If you are practical in your approach to anything you can get a good experience, which will give you good creative ideas and for now creativity is the only demand in the market when you step out of your so called “education.”

Similar things always have some relation.

Things you see and do have some connection the same way the small signs always have connection.
Signs like the first two fingers up and the other three folded means peace and is also used to tell someone to wait for two minutes. It has a deep meaning. Why don’t you show the middle finger to tell someone to wait for 1 minute or the last finger. The first two fingers are a sign for peace and victory as well. If you show the first two fingers means that you are requesting someone to wait for two minutes. I know what you will be thinking now. You are thinking that the first two fingers are also used to show that you badly want to go to the washroom. That also is a request which is again asked peacefully.

This is sounding funny isn’t it? Well yes, but no one notices it. What would have happened if Newton never noticed the apple falling from the tree? We would never know about gravitational force.

I am not talking about such signs though that was just an example. I am talking about signs in a bigger scale which we call co incidence. People always have co incidents with friends or unknown people. Co incidence can be anything as small as saying the same word or dating the same girl. Has anyone thought why is that a coincidence? Saying the same word is because you are some what like the other person. You both think that way. Two people dating the same girl because both of them have the same choice. Always there is something similar because there is some relation. Twins look alike because they are twins that cannot be called co incidence.

So my theory hence proved .. Similar things always have some relation.

Music - what I believe it should be like!

‘Tu Hi Meri, Meri teri. Teri meri’ to ‘D.K Bose’ is music of today’s modern India. I am just dancing to the tunes. I have stopped listening to any numbers now. I remember my mother telling me that our todays songs are very pointless and like a dog’s bark. We are a generation who have ruined The Hanuman Chalisa to the national Anthem and still act like we are very innocent.

Yes we are just making music, was my response. My mother says that even if she likes the songs from our time they are not remembered for long, which is correct. How many songs from the last five movies do you remember?

NONE!!

The transformation is what we have grown up with and so for us it will not be a problem but for them it will be. Does every musician need to know the basics and the history of music or is it the talent that matters? I wrote a song recently and realized, for a song to be awesome it has to have great lyrics and nothing else. Lyrics are what make a song. Music sometimes break it. I know why KK is famous. It’s because he sings songs that have amazing lyrics and so he is killing it.

I didn’t realize this until recently when I sat down to write my own song. Lyrics are important because they hold the song. If there were no lyrics then what would a song be. Not that I say no any experimental stuff but I say no to songs which don’t convey meaning. And this is just my Point Of View.
Someone said we should not take major decisions when we are Sad, hungry, angry. Lazy, tired. And I agree to that man. They only lead to songs which will talk about sadness or laziness or food or ferocious stuff.

We should have a clear frame in the mind so that we know where to start from.

I have mine figured. What about you guys?

The Mirror and the Devil..!!

I was alone one night and someone stood in front of me,
Its form was neither human nor animal as I couldn’t clearly see.

I moved behind and so did he,
I moved ahead and he moved with me.

I looked towards him closely and I saw,
It had horns on his head and nails as big as saw.

His eyes were deadly and bloodshot red,
His hair was messy and resembled a paper which was shred.

I looked at the Devil and started to cry,
His laughter echoed as the moments passed by.

I raised my voice and so did he,
I tried to run but he still followed me.

When I turned on the lights I could clearly see,
I was standing in front of the mirror and the Devil was me!

Perceptions

Every person has a different perception about a person. This is because they find something different in a person when they talk to him/her. Perceptions cannot be made by just talking to a person. A person can be phony in words but it is difficult to be sham in actions. So according to me observation is the best way to judge a person and make any perception about him or her.

When you talk to a person, he/she always tries to prove you that he/she is the best person in every possible way. He/she always wants you to think something good about him or her. So talking to a person is always like getting a perception that is wanted by that person. But when you observe a person you get to know that person well. He/she cannot make you have a perception what he/she wants to portray.

Observing is difficult because you have to be patient. You cannot get a perception by just observing a person just for a day. Your mind should me calm. You should be a good listener than a speaker and a good observer than a listener. Observing always helps because a person cannot act the same all the time, but he/she can talk the same thing every time.

Observation also has two types. One is observation through your eye, the other one is observation through someone else’s eye. Observation through your eye means seeing things through your eyes without getting a perception about the person and trying to figure out the way he/she deals with things. Observation through someone else’s eye means observing a person after having a perception about him/her just because of listening to the person speaking about himself/herself or because of hearing about the person from someone else. This is not good because if you already have a perception about a person than you look at him/her keeping the old perception in mind. So you cannot get new things about him/her because there is already an image of that person somewhere deep in your mind. You should always forget the older perception about the person before observing him/her. I think that observing a person through your own eye is better than observing him/her through someone else’s eye.

Observing people is fun. Knowing people is the best thing, but knowing them to the core is better than best. So having perception is good but having a correct perception about a person after days of observation is even better. Perception without supportive reasons is no use, so always try to have perception about a person after having supportive reasons for it and supportive reasons come from deep observation.

Mystery Unsolved

Too real to ignore, too far to yet see,
too fast to decide what's between you and me.
With glimpses and smiles, a laugh or a word,
so swiftly it passes, leaves me half-reassured.
Yet it is enough to keep me involved,
my questions unanswered, mystery unsolved.
I watch from a distance, I question my heart.
Out of fear of its ending, I may not let it start.
It is once, maybe twice, in a lifetime so long,
that too people unite with love's bond so strong.
But is this that once? I can't tell, I won't try.
Who am I to decide what's between you and I?
In times of uncertainty, in areas of gray,
I wonder where reality meets mind games we play.
For if I can't trust what is warring inside,
how can I trust you? My hands are tied.
But it is no fault of yours. I refuse to blame you.
You cannot know how hard it is to know what to do.
I will leave it within, my questions unresolved,
my decisions undecided, the mystery unsolved.

Do what you want to do!!!

All of us have a passion. That one thing we do better than most of the people around us. It could be singing, dancing, acting, photography, sports, poetry and a lot of other things. But how many of us gut it out to take them up professionally? We just sit back in our chair, sulk about our sucky job and watch with envy others, who had it in them, pursue their dreams. They might not be making as much money but atleast they're doing what they want to do. Atleast they're happy. When we were kids, someone wanted to be a painter, someone wanted to be an astronaut, a pilot, a singer, a cricketer, someone wanted to join the army, someone wanted to be an actor and all sorts of kickass professions. What happened then? Why have we lost all the passion? Just because we have grown up(yeah right!!), doesn't necessarily mean we have to detach ourselves from our inner child. Children make mistakes, yes. But mistakes are good. They're an education like no other. And besides, the greatest mistake one can make is to continuously fear that you will make another one. So head out and chase your dreams fearlessly. And with Lord Voldemot dead, there's no one who can stop you. Well almost no one, but let's face it. Take those electric guitar lessons you always wanted to, that karate class you promised yourself you'll take, that vacation to your favourite holiday destination, that bungee jump, that scuba dive. Do what you like doing, do what you enjoy doing and you will realise that life is what you make of it. You will realise that if you believe that dreams come true, then there's one waiting just for you. And you will also realise that the last line rhymed :p
